During election period, myself and some friends went to watch football at a viewing centre, on our way home after the match we were arrested by MOPOL for moving during curfew hours. They noticed we were all putting on jersey and they decided they’ll cane us according to the numbers on each person’s jersey. Fortunately for me, I was putting on a goalkeeper’s jersey that day and was given just a stroke of the cane. The next person was putting on Messi’s jersey and was given 10 strokes. The third guy was putting on Balotteli’s AC Milan jersey and was given 45 strokes. On getting to the next guy, we noticed he was already crying furiously, we didn’t understand the major reason for the cry until we saw what he was putting on, “VOTE GEJ TILL 2015”

     A good laugh has great effects. When we laugh, it doesn't just lighten our load mentally, it actually induces physical changes in our body. Laughter is a very good medicine for the body. It helps regulate the body system and puts the body in good shape and form. When we laugh (a genuine laugh), the whole body, spirit and soul is always motivated and elevated, our mind is free from pains or worries and things works well and easy for us.

     As much as its good to laugh, its not easy to tickle or trigger ourselves to laughter, we need something, someone or an occurrence/happenings to initiate the laughter in us.

     THE SECRET this morning reveals to us the best and greatest source of laughter. Only the Lord can fill our mouths with laughter. He rejoices over us and bless us in every way possible. Imagine an important sporting event where everyone is cheering on their winning favourite team, that is just a little way to express the kind of joy and shouting that the Lord gives us. He fills our lips with laughter, so that we can face every obstacle and challenge with hope and excitement. And as there's laughter on our lips, our heart is also filled with happiness and shout of joy and testimony will always emanate from our mouth. FACE YOUR FEAR

In our previous post, we gave a list of different phobias from A-Z. Do you know that when you were born, you only have two inbuilt fear? The fear of falling and the fear of loud noise, but as we grow, the fear tend to increase or moved to other ones. Phobia, which is known as irrational fear is an emotion induced by a threat perceived by living entities, which causes a change in brain and organ function and ultimately a change in behaviour, such as running away, hiding or freezing from traumatic events.

Fear may occur in response to a specific stimulus happening in the present, or to a future situation, which is perceived as risk to health or life, status, power, security, or, in the case of humans, wealth or anything held valuable. The fear response arises from the perception of danger leading to confrontation with or avoiding the threat, which in extreme cases of fear (horror and terror) can be a freeze response or paralysis.

One way or the other, we all have a phobia/fear. To overcome your fears:

1)      Know your fear.

2)      Analyse and acknowledge it.

3)      Take charge/control of it.

4)      Imagine yourself doing that thing you are scared of.

5)      Start doing those things you are scared of.
